Replacing it at the mentioned interval, will add life to the fuel pump. The filter in the tank (Not serviceable), just use some good fuel injector cleaner, this should clean the in-tank fuel filter and injectors, “two for one”. Fuel injector cleaner, does well on vehicles with an in-line filter, just make sure you replace the filter, before using the cleaner.

Auto Paint How To: A Basic Guide

Whether you are just interested in re-spraying a small area to cover up some paint chips, or want to treat your car to a custom paint job that will let you enjoy envious stares from every pedestrian you pass, you will need to follow a few basic rules, and have the right tools to hand in order to carry out the work to a high standard.

The first thing to mention about auto paint jobs is that you should always work in a well ventilated area. Paint fumes can include a number of solvents that can leave you feeling light headed and even poison you if you inhale them, so make sure there is free passage of air through your work shop when you are painting. You should also wear a respirator mask during painting or preparation to avoid inhaling any paint and loose dust that you release.

To get the best effects when painting, you also need to make sure that you are able to keep dust to a minimum. You can achieve a good environment by hanging sheets from floor to ceiling in the area where you are working, and wearing overalls. You should also vacuum clean the area where you are painting at the beginning of every session.

When you apply auto body paint, the main thing is to get a good even finish that looks good, and the key to getting a good finish is having a good start. Preparation is everything in paining. Get it right, and you will be able to enjoy a fantastic smooth finish that will last for years and look great, skimp on your preparation, and your finish will look shabby straight away, and then get worse over time.

Before you paint, you need to strip off the old paint job. You can do this with a solvent based paint remover, or do it the hard way by sanding back the panels to bare metal using a sander. Whichever method you choose, you need to make sure that you have a very smooth base. To achieve this, use the finest grade abrasive paper available, and be prepared to put serious time into the job.

Once you are satisfied with your base, you can start applying the primer. Use a HLVP spray gun connected to an air compressor, as this is much more even than an aerosol, and will be much cheaper in the long run. You should use long sweeping strokes in a single direction to get a good base to paint onto. After every coat, allow the paint to dry, and then sand it back to a smooth surface. Then apply the next coat in strokes that go at 90 degrees to the previous layer, as this will produce an even color.

There are two types of auto paint that you can use on a car, cellulose based and Two Pack auto paint. Most painters now use Two Pack because it gives a better finish, and metallic colors are available, whereas cellulose paint can be tricky to deal with, and is best used on classic cars where you are trying to recapture an older style.

As with the primer, you should apply the auto paint in coats, spraying in a single direction, then sanding back to a fine surface to remove any imperfections, before applying the next layer at right angles to the previous one.

In between coats, it is imperative to clean the nozzles on your HVLP spray gun, as otherwise, small flakes of dried paint can be caught up in the spray and cause imperfections that will spoil the final effect.

Once you are satisfied that you have got a good covering and applied enough coats of auto body paint to create an excellent finish, apply one more coat for best effects, allow it to dry, and then sand back for a smooth finish. You should leave the paint to dry completely for 24 hours and then apply a wax polish to the whole body in order to protect your new paint job and give it a shine that will certainly catch the attention of anyone you pass on the road.

The Automotive Industry – It’s High Points, And Pitfalls

The automotive industry used to be of of America’s strongest industries, they’d buy up land and build plants all over the world, they’d put hundreds of thousands of people to work, they’d take their time and build a very high quality car.

But over the years the upper, and middle management of all of them, along with the big wonderful UAW would take them down, the UAW with it’s outrageous pay for the workers at the plants, along with sweetheart retirement plans, severance packages, and lifetime health insurance.

The management was padding their pockets, and cutting corners on the cars so they could keep doing it, these people were taking home huge yearly pay checks, along with stocks in the companies, and whatever else that could finagle out of the business.

These things combined would eventually take them down, force them to down size, and file a chapter 11 to reorganize that business side of things and keep them in business, and then along comes Obama who had the wonderful I idea to socialize the private sector.

Two out of the big three bought in to the government bailout of the industry, lock, stock, and barrel, they dived in head first, and then Obama comes in and decides to help them out by paying off the UAW first, and gave the union a huge amount of GM, and Chrysler.

This should have never been done in the first place, they should have been made to stand in line just like all of the other creditors, in bankruptcy that law says that you have to pay back the secured creditors before the non-secured ones can be paid, but no in this case, the union came first.

Love that UAW, or hate it, they are a bunch of corrupt money grubbing idiots just like all of the politicians, it all just trades one evil, for another, it helps Obama’s buddies in the union, and leave the other out in the cold, it illegal and never should have happened.

The union hasn’t really been needed in this country since the 1950′s, how many sweat shops do you know of, these were the reason for the unions to be created in the first place, and back then they were needed, now most people get paid, according to what they know.

The automotive industry could have done a lot of things to stop these events from happening, they knew that it was coming and tried to hide it, I guess they were thinking it would go away, they could have pulled all operations back in to this country, and cut the our sourcing off completely.

They could have not signed the UAW contract, and if they had to, they could move their corporate headquarters out of Detroit so they could get rid of the union, and that constant beating over the head, they could have decided not to cut corners on their car to pad their pockets.

These few things would have gone a long way toward helping them stay out of the situation that they got in to, the imports were never better built, they were cutting corners at the same time, our automotive industry just got stupid, and greedy.

Trucking jobs have been and probably always will be the highest paid entry level jobs that a person can get without any experience or going to college. Not only are trucking jobs the best entry level jobs you wont be wasting four to eight years in school and spending tens of thousands in tuition and expenses.

After searching the internet for the highest paying entry level jobs I was amazed. Every website and search result on the first few pages was for college graduates and salaries for people with specific degrees! The fact is that most anyone that is searching for an entry level job with no experience is doing so because they did not go to college.

Truck drivers can be earning money immediately with no experience. A person get into the trucking industry and get trained without spending any money out of their pocket! Most trucking schools will even pay students while they are being trained! With a little ambition and a good plan a person can get a trucking job and out perform even the top college graduate starting salaries driving a truck.

With as little as three months experience driving a truck I was able to get a trucking job with a trucking company enabling me to make over $60,000 a year with the ability to be home everyday! I have searched jobs for months and I have not found any entry level positions anywhere that will pay this type of money at an entry level without a college degree.

Not only are trucking jobs the best entry level jobs but the freedom these jobs have to offer is unparalleled. There are thousands of trucking companies and many different types of trucking jobs available each year. With a CDL and the need for truck drivers you will have job security that few industries can offer you as an employee.

All you need is a drivers license if you are looking to make college graduate type wages with one of the highest paying entry level jobs in the country. Trucking jobs are the ideal jobs for people with no experience looking to make a lot of money!
